Vic: Another eight allged victims of priest to be interviewed
Police will interview another eight alleged victims of accused paedophile priest FRANK
KLEP, who was arrested in Melbourne in June after being ordered to leave Samoa.
In an application to extend a committal mention date at the Melbourne Magistrates Court
today, the prosecutor said extra time is needed because there are eight potential victims
to be interviewed.
KLEP was granted bail last month after he appeared before the court charged with five
counts of indecent assault.
The 61-year-old was charged in 1998 with indecently assaulting a 15-year-old boy in
1973 while teaching at the Salesian order's Rupertswood College at Sunbury on Melbourne's
north-western fringe.
A court had previously been told the five charges were laid a month after KLEP moved
to Samoa to become senior financial adviser with the Moamoa Theological College.
KLEP was ordered out of Samoa this year under threat of deportation.
Magistrate PETER COUZENS has set the committal mention date for November the 4th.
