Fed: govt re-shaping $4.7b research spending in secret - Labor
Labor claims the federal government is set to re-order its $4.7 billion research spendingafter secret consultations.
Opposition science and research spokesman KIM CARR says the decisions covering researchspending are being made in a secretive and unaccountable fashion.
He says the heads of federal research agencies have been called in and told there willbe new spending priorities.
He says the process is being driven by a shadowy elite and is set to spread acrossmost areas of government research spending.
Comment is being sought from Science Minister PETER McGAURAN.
